Hi, I’m Dave. I’m a photographer, videographer, colorist, and editor from the Bay Area, CA.

I started Very Good Presets because I wanted to accomplish a few things. First, I wanted to create excellent and authentic single-click presets that don’t require an additional two hours of your time to fine-tune. Second, I wanted to include modifiers that help you quickly tweak the preset to serve you well. Third, I wanted to educate with best-practices for the presets we sell, and actually tell you how to make the presets look great when you shoot and edit. Last, I wanted to make presets that were affordable. And I want those presets to be very good.

This shop will not be slammed with dozens of lazy presets.

The presets for sale here are created by myself and other photographers who share the same value and goals as I do.

FAQs

Do these work on any camera system?

I primarily shoot Sony and Leica, but have shot Canon, Fuji, and Nikon as well over the last twenty years. I have tens-of-thousands of RAW files across many camera systems that I test out presets on. I have full confidence that you will be happy and find consistency across the presets sold on this site. If not, reach out and I’ll help you make custom tweaks to make sure things perform the way they are intended to.

What is included in a purchase?

When you buy a preset, you’ll receive XMP files to import into Lightroom Classic or Lightroom CC, DNG files should you need to import in Lightroom Mobile, and an installation guide with clear descriptions of everything in the pack, with best practices as well.

When will new presets be added?

As often as it makes sense. The goal here isn’t to throw preset packs together to a quick buck… it’s to create useful tools. Useful tools aren’t meant to be rushed, and they take time.

If I hate your preset, can I get a refund?

All of the sales on this site are final. That said, if you hate these presets, talk to me. Let me understand your problem and try to solve it. We’re artists all working together, and art is not a zero-sum game. I’ll always do everything I can to collaborate.
